When someone sends you a document via e-mail you will want to open and possibly save the attachment on your iPad. Depending on the type of document, you will have several options to open the document in an app or to “preview” the document. This video is shown on iPad with iOS 6, but it works the same on iOS 7. In the update for iPad in late 2012, new gestures have been made available for your iPad. You can now use more than one finger to perform certain actions on your iPad. You will need to turn on “Multitasking Gestures” in Settings to be able to uses these gestures. This video is shown using iPad with iOS 6, but it works the same on iOS 7 and iOS 8.

This video is only applicable to those who have NOT updated their iPhone/iPad to iOS 7 or 7.1 Please see additional videos for iOS 7 and higher. If you use multiple iDevices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) with your Apple ID, you may have trouble keeping the downloads for your devices separate. To ensure that you don’t automatically download items (apps, music and books) that you download on your personal device to your work iPad or iPhone, you can change a few settings.

You can use your voice to dictate text on the iPad. Dictation is available in any app that has a keyboard. You must say the punctuation while saying your sentence/paragraph when dictating text. Using dictation to compose e-mails and text messages can be a great time saver! If you have an older iPad (iPad 1 or iPad 2), dictation is not available. If you have multiple iDevices (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch), text messages will be delivered to all devices at the same time. You may not want to receive iMessages (text messages) on your iPad if you are with a customer. You can turn this setting off on your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. This process is shown using an iPad, but works the same on iPhone.
