There may be times when you need to force an application to close. Pressing the Home Button to return to the Home Screen doesn’t actually close the app, it just hides the app from view. If an app is unresponsive or running slow you may want to close it completely. This process shown on iPhone 6 with iOS 8, but works the same on iPad.

When you double tap the Home button, it brings up recently used apps and recent Contacts (at the top of the screen). You can change a setting that will remove “Recent Contacts” from this “App Switcher” screen. This process shown on iPhone 6 with iOS 8.

You can delete e-mails while viewing the list of messages in your Inbox. It can be done on an individual basis or in a batch. This process is shown using iPhone with iOS 8, but works the same on iPad.

You can now use different views in Safari (or other browsers) on your iPhone running iOS 8. You may want to view the full “Desktop Site” instead of the mobile version that shows up on your iPhone or iPad in Safari automatically. You can also request “Reader View” to remove all the distracting content (advertising and extra images and content), to make it easier to read only the text on a web page.
