In Windows 8.1 you can use the “Snipping Tool” to capture a screen shot, or snip, of anything on your screen. You can annotate, save, or share the image after capturing.
You can quickly insert a horizontal line (from margin to margin), by tapping the dash three times and then hitting ENTER. The type of character you type 3 times, will determine the type of line. Dashes is the most common, but you can also use equal signs, pound signs, and more. This process shown in Word 2010, but works in all versions of Microsoft Word.
It's easy to shrink or enlarge an image in a presentation without using the mouse. Use the SHIFT key with the up and down arrows to change the size of the image proportionately. This process shown using PowerPoint 2010, but works in all versions of Microsoft PowerPoint.
When you use Microsoft Word, you may notice the page ruler is turned off. It’s easy to turn on or off if you know where the buttons are located. This process shown in Microsoft Word 2010, but works the same in most versions of Microsoft Word (2007, 2013)
